Preparing for Eating Disorder Awareness Week: 2/26-3/3

As we come into the month of February, we are approaching National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, which will be February 26 through March 3.

Through my 10 years of working in treating eating disorders, I have seen countless parents come in and out of treatment.

I have witnessed many individuals feel torn between wanting the ‘comfort’ from their eating disorders, while also wanting to get better for their children.

I have heard a lot of people berate the ways they look and eat - not being to believe that they are already *everything* to their kids just the way they are.

Eating disorders, as well as struggles with food and body, during pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood are not talked about enough.

I want to use this upcoming month to shed more light on this topic.
